Rings

Boy, it’s been a short while since I posted anything. So much has been going on though, that keeping up has been slightly difficult :). My mom has been traveling non-stop with her job so trying to plan a wedding and check budgets with her, etc has been rather difficult. I love my dad, he just sits back and watches :). We have our date set, Sept 4, 2010; our colors are teal & brown; we have our wedding party; I think we have the church although as of yesterday that didn’t sound as promising as we thought… we’ll see; we have the reception hall; and the bride and groom of course, haha! While in Branson we actually bought Prince Charming’s ring and it was shipped in yesterday!! So plans are moving forward :). His ring is gorgeous… ok so he’s a guy, it’s um… manly, haha! We have created a wedding website also, you can take a peek if you want!! We even know our kitchen will be John Deere Green & yellow with John Deere stuff, but not all. Our bedroom will be brown and blue (that’s why the wedding colors, incorporate some wedding things into our bedroom to always remember that special day… yep, I was thinking ahead). My mom will be at a trade show for 2 weeks but she said when she gets back, she & my aunt are taking me for my first dress shopping. Oddly enough I’m not looking forward to that, I want to be about 50lbs lighter :)… yeah like that’ll happen but you never know :). Besides what’s it truly matter, Prince Charming loves me just the way I am so whatever we’ll see what happens. Well, I hope you have a GREAT day, I have other things to get done!!

Valentine’s Day weekend

I love how people ask if I got my ring as an early Valentine’s Day present. Nope, I got a fridge :). I told him he wasn’t allowed to give me one on Valentine’s Day, Christmas, my birthday, basically no big holiday! So Friday was National Safety Pup Day and Lincoln’s Birthday. I’ll always know it as Nicole got engaged day… haha.

Over the weekend we headed to Branson for Tbug’s Cheerleading competition. They placed 3rd!! This set up was so much better than Tulsa (held at Union High School) ever thought about being. We haven’t been to the 2 other Tulsa setups but the one we went to, we were in the nose bleed section (so was everyone), all seats were far from the girls performing so forget about pictures unless you have a telephoto lens, which I didn’t. All the girls look like blurs in my photos. I was so disappointed. At Branson the stage was about shoulder height on me, the judges were set up about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way back and they were on platforms also so parents could get right up in front of the stage. I got some awesome pictures of the girls!

I was happy, I got some closer up shots of her!!!! (more…)

And She Said Yes

This had started out as a pretty crappy day, I surely didn’t know that it would eventually get better! I started doing the mail and got a phone call from Nancy at the front office that I had flowers at the front desk so I headed to the front of the building to go retrieve my flowers. (I work all the way at the back.) I passed Becky grumbling that “Prince Charming’s so in trouble.” although seriously what girl doesn’t like flowers, especially when they look like this!!

Meanwhile back at my desk, my mom brought Prince Charming into the building. Tracy got her camera out and Nicole got another camera that had a recorder out. Becky was standing guard in the hallway to announce to them when I got back. Then they all dove into different hiding places.

So when I came back Becky announces really loud that I had beautiful flowers. My desk has frosted glass around it and when I walked around the corner and I could see someone on the far side of my desk but I figured it was a coworker had dropped something or since I was having such a bad day, they were going to jump out and scare me (things like that happen to me from time to time) so I didn’t really think too much of it. So I came upon my mystery guest and Prince Charming is down on one knee. (more…)

Aloha!

I’m sure getting tired of this winter weather. Bring on the heat!! And a dry arena. I’m ready to start riding horses again, although once this spring hits, we’ll be down to 2 horses, KG & Squirty. Guess we’ll have to get to breaking Blondie. Aloha will be a mommy this spring. This is some exciting news, however we’ll have to come up with another horse for Tbug to ride for a short while. No big deal, she might get to ride Chico, we’ll see. She won’t be afoot though. As for show horses, it’s just KG & Squirty.

For Christmas Tbug got a saddle, saddle blanket & saddle rack. She came out Christmas Eve to ride Aloha and boy was it cold. The wind was out of the North and it was misting however it’s a good thing she didn’t come out Christmas Day like the original plan, she’d have had to ride in 17 degree weather and snow with gusting winds from the North. In the pictures, you can sure see Aloha’s belly.

Aloha was my dad’s 25th Wedding anniversary present from my mom. She wanted to go to Hawaii (hence the name) and dad wanted a horse, so they compromised and dad got a horse and mom gave her the barn name.

Daddy is helping her up on Aloha. Telling her where to grab to help pull herself up.

Project – Love Postponed

Well looks like we’ve decided to postpone Project Love again and make it in conjunction with Project Valentine’s Day. This weekend was absolutely crazy! I guess a crazy weekend following a crazy week, what more could you expect? Friday night I got home from work and you guessed it, more lambs. A set of twins out of a rather crazy ewe. Prince Charming picks the lambs up and tries to coax the ewe out of the pen but it didn’t work. So there was feed in the trough and I pounced on the ewe, got ahold of her, and she proceeded to drag me all around the lot. Now we’ve just recently had snow melt off and then it snowed on Friday (as you saw here) which melted away within an hour so the pen the ewes were locked in was a nasty sloppy mess. Well with her dragging me around in the mud somehow I lost my footing and went face-first into the mud landing my right knee on a rock. I screamed and Prince Charming put the lambs down to come to get me but then instantly picked them up b/c the ewe was going nuts. I got to my feet but I thought for sure I was going to hurl. I finally hobbled over to the feed trough and sat in it (and it was full of water). By this time my dad came up from feeding cows and started helping but didn’t know that I had hit my knee so was yelling b/c I could hardly move. big breath of air!! We finally got the ewe and lambs in the barn and Prince Charming & I ran in the house and cleaned up so that we could go pick Tbug up after gymnastics. Friday would have also been my Grandma Smith’s birthday so she and my grandpa’s favorite place to eat was Red Lobster. On Wednesday would have been Prince Charming’s step dad’s birthday, so as a way to celebrate their lives, we went to eat at Red Lobster.

It’s Snowing…. AGAIN!!

Snow snow, go away, go to someone else!! Ok so it is pretty when you actually look at it, but I’m tired of it. I just now got where I can get in and out of my driveway with my car, and now more snow. If I could get out of the driveway, I’d be fine, it’s just the dumb driveway doesn’t like me. It’s uphill both ways. My car hasn’t left the driveway since last Thursday, instead I’ve just been hitching rides, which I guess is good on gas for me :)… LOL. Anyway where I sit at work, I can see out of my co-worker’s window as long as his door is open and there were some HUGE snow flakes coming down! It looked like someone was sprinkling pulled apart cotton. Here are a few snap shots I got this morning.

This is out between the 2 buildings at work looking right out the door.

Eat the Bear

“Some days you eat the bear and some days the bear eats you” is always a phrase my dad has told me. Or “You’ll get glad in the same pants you got mad in or you’ll change them.” Both truthfully are fitting however yesterday I wasn’t so much mad as just bummed so I guess let’s rephrase, “You get glad in the same pants you got bummed in or you’ll change them.”

Yesterday just wasn’t the best day in the world. I got woke up to cows and buffalo being in the yard because we’d accidentally left the gate unlocked the night before. Good thing they come to feed buckets and are gentle for the most part. I then proceeded to go in the house and get dressed. My car probably would have made it out of the driveway with some expert driving yesterday but there was still ice in all the wrong spots where I need traction. Mustangs are awesome cars in the summer, but suck with snow and ice on the roads, however right now, roads clear, driveway, not so much. My car hasn’t been out of the driveway since last Thursday when I got home from work. I have an itchin to drive!!! I’ve just been bumming rides with my dad and Prince Charming. They both have big 4×4 trucks!! That’s what I need ;).

Anyway I came to work yesterday and worked on the same project all day long in excel until I felt crosseyed. Still not done either by the time I left to go home. My mom had emailed me during the day and said she’d like to run to JoAnn’s Cloth store and if I didn’t have any baby lambs that needed my attention when I got home, would I like to go. NEVER EVER say those words :)… I swear that was the jinx right there.
