Awkward Moments

{Typed up on September 23, 2013)
You know those awkward moments in life.  Come on, I know you do, we all have them at some point or another.

So a priceless moment is hubby going to buy a pregnancy test.

I hadn't been feeling well and not to say we were trying, but at the same time we weren't preventing anything either so hubby really wanted me to take a pregnancy test when I started not feeling well.  So after he couldn't convince me to go buy one, he went to the drug store on his way home from work one evening and tried to quickly grab one and get out.

You know how that story goes, especially when you're in a small town drug store.  A guy walked up and said, "Can I help you?"  He was like {thinking crap}, "I'm trying to find a pregnancy test."  The guy told him they were to his right.  The two gals behind the counter said, "Do you see them?"  He looked over and saw all kinds of other random stuff but no tests so he was like, "No."  So one gal came over to help him.

He said it was quite embarrassing because they basically brought out the gangnam style dancing at the chance to help him find a pregnancy test.

He went through all of that for nothing because I wound up not needing to take the test anyway.

The next month....

For about a week I felt nauseous.  I kind of thought it was due to eating dinner late, especially after bouncing around on a tractor in the hayfield of an evening.  Finally hubby suggested I go ahead and make use of that test.  He was like it was cheap so why not.  Well, leave it to me.  I screwed it up the first go round, as in apparently I didn't pee on it.  Yup, I'm cool like that.  So we waited the time it said and notta.  It didn't even register.  We looked at each other dumbfounded and he asked me if I read the directions.  Of course I didn't because I felt dumb doing that in the first place.

So he went in and read the directions and decided I probably didn't do it correctly.  So we got a good laugh and went to sleep that night.

The next morning I woke up at 6am having to pee sooo bad I thought I wouldn't make it to the bathroom (tmi!).  This time since I knew what I was doing, I took the same test again... and this is what we saw.  In fact you can barely see the line, but is it there to be counted or not?  So I left it in the bathroom and went back to bed.  Somewhere in the mean time I woke hubby up or he woke himself up.  I asked what he was doing and he was like... laying here, what are you doing?

I told him to get up and go check that stupid thing out (I think those were my exact words).  So he hurriedly got out of bed and was gone for what seemed like forever, came back in and said, uh... what do you think?

Neither of us could tell, wondered if because I screwed it up the night before if that had some effect on it, so he threw it away and googled about when you could start feeling symptoms and started reading them to me.

After that he proceeded to find out about the pregnancy test that tells you how far along you are.  Digital vs non digital, etc.

That night he came home from work with the EPT digital pregnancy test that told you how far along you were.  He said it came with instructions.  I asked if he read them so he could tell me how to use this one.  He said, been there, done that.  That's why the box is open.

So I was finishing up making dinner (which by the way ugh...) and ran to the bathroom before we sat down to eat.  He had a test sitting on the toilet seat waiting for me.  I took it and then laid it down and went to eat.  I picked at what I ate and then went to put my bowl in the kitchen.  After that I went and looked at the test and look what we found...

And what's really funny about all of this, is I am always teasing hubby that, you know the saying your kids are going to be worse than you.  I keep telling him I hope they're worse than me, not him.  Well while we were baling hay the week of October 7th, that Friday I had a HORRIBLE day and threw a fit and everything else.  Hubby was like, I sure hope that when it comes to the tantrum throwing they aren't worse than you!

Guess we'll see........

I also didn't know what to do with this pregnancy test so I left it sitting in the bathroom for about a week.  The pregnant goes away after a couple days... just fyi.
