Uh Oh! What's She Thinking?!?!

If you were in my brain today you'd see a lot of jumbly goop, which includes but not limited to:

++Something is poking me in the butt but I don't know what. ha! It's probably a tag. I'm not sure I like clothing tags. They tell you the size of what you're wearing and they apparently poke you in the derrière (pronounced dairy air).

++I could soooooo use a nap!

++The weather is turning off nasty this weekend. I'm kind of torn, at least I don't really have anywhere to go I don't think but why does it do it on the weekend when we're supposed to be free and clear of things?

++My feet are really cold. I'm tired of having cold feet. Does this mean my circulation is bad? I swear I almost think I want to invest in a pair of house slippers for school!

++I'm thirsty... where did that water go anyway? Oh dang it, I drank it all... I know I have another one!

++Don't worry, found the water! Whew!

++There is a quote in the library that says
"Since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defences of peace must be constructed."
I don't know who said the quote, I can't see that part... but interesting quote, right? I dunno... seems a bit weird to have in the library to me. Especially in huge letters plastered on the wall.

++I ate cold pizza for lunch... am I growing up because YUCK! I used to LOVE cold pizza. Now I think it's disgusting. Is that Peanuts fault?

++I had an awful, horrible, terrible, no good, very bad test today. It was awful! There were supposed to be 3 parts but the teacher only made us do 2 because no one could get done with the first 2 to even attempt the 3rd. I finished the 2nd right as the hour and 15 minute class was up. Yuck! It was awful.

++I just shoved my chair back and about fell on my butt. That would have been fun, right?

++So my SIL put up on facebook the other day to put the name of songs you were listening to and end with "in my pants." Made for a fun and interesting game.... It reminds me of saying "in bed" after you read your fortune cookies.

++Have I mentioned I'm really tired? My class starts in 20 minutes and lasts for an hour and 15 minutes. I sure hope I don't fall asleep in class. No guarantees but I haven't fallen asleep in a class since high school when it was some govt class and I sat behind a really tall basketball player and we watched CNN for 15 minutes every day. You couldn't see me anyway through the bball player. Where is he today when I need a nap?!?!

++I guess I should stop while I'm ahead and pack up my stuff and go to class. I'd like to go to sleep though!

**Disclaimer: All written Thursday afternoon**

Week 21

How far along? 21 weeks 6 days

Total weight gain/loss: I decided this is too depressing to look at so I quit.

How big is baby? Baby is the size of a Pomegranate. at 10.5 inches long and about 12.7 ounces. The ultra sound tech said she's a little over a pound which she told me is more close to right. I don't know.
  • As her digestive system preps for the outside world, she's manufacturing meconium - the tarry black substance you'll find in her first dirty diaper (ew)!
  • Baby girl will have her lifetime supply of eggs in her womb - about six million of them.

Maternity Clothes? Pretty much yup. I haven't tried on anything but my running shorts and hubby's t-shirts. I should try on my jeans just to see but that might make me cry so why put myself through that.

Stretch Marks? I still haven't seen any yet. I doubt I'm lucky enough to get by without any. I do have blue veins very close to the surface that have shown up which are cool but freaky looking at the same time.

Best moment this week? Getting to see Addison on the 4-D ultra sound. The little stinker wasn't cooperating though and didn't want to show her face until 45 minutes and the very last picture we got. It was also great because my Mom and my Mother in law got to be there to see their newest grand baby, that was pretty sweet.

Movement? All I can say is she must have gotten my dance moves :) But I'm not complaining! It's good to know she's in there moving around!

Food Cravings/Aversions? I'm still a bit grouchy about this one... steak. I can't eat steak, seriously? Still no crazy cravings though. Although the other day Salt and Vinegar chips sounded really good, but I didn't find any. That and a Braum's Twist in a waffle cone sounds really good too. I get those every now and then but hold back at the same time.

What I miss: Being able to bend over and tie my shoes easily! Everyone laughs when I say this and tell me it'll only get worse. I also still miss my clothes! I'm tired of these maternity pants. They just aren't flattering on me :)

What I'm looking forward to: Getting over this cold. I'm sure that baby is too because this cough is nasty! I've been fighting it for 4 weeks now. ugh!

Nausea/Vomiting? Sadly I did have an episode this week, but hubby wasn't feeling well either so we wonder if it was something we ate?

Labor signs? Let's sure hope not! Way to early! It does crack me up when they ask me that at the doctors office. They've asked me that since the first appointment around week 8.

Gender? We have had them verify it's a girl 3 different times. Think it's a girl?!?!

Belly Button in or out?  It's still in but getting shallow and it aches! OMG does it ache! I've always had issues with my belly button hurting though so that doesn't totally surprise me.

Wedding rings on or off? They are still on. yey :)

Sleep? I need a nap most days. I thought the second trimester was supposed to bring about more energy. Where is my energy? Sadly I can't sleep through the night either. Hubby brought this cold to me and since he's had it, he's started snoring again at night which wakes me up about 4-4:30 and won't allow me to go back to sleep which is probably why I'm so dadgum tired.

Weekly Wisdom: I've been stressed out this week and I don't see it getting better for a couple of weeks. It's due to being tired and the stresses of school and worrying (about things I can and can't control) and sooooo much more. My weekly wisdom is pray. I don't know what else to do. Otherwise I sadly don't have anything. And just something funny that is totally random and has nothing to do with this... yeah so the church bulletin on Sunday said that Saturday was the 29th... lol.

Due Date: Thursday June 26, 2014 was what we originally thought. Then I was told June 30, then July 4th, then June 26, then June 27 and after the 3-D ultra sound June 28. I guess she'll come when she's ready, right?

If you came over for Coffee

If you came to my house for coffee I'd have you take your shoes off and make yourself at home. I'd ask if you'd like a cup of coffee, but I gave that up when I got pregnant so you'd have to use milk for your creamer as we don't have any creamer in the house anymore, but I do have sugar. If you didn't want coffee I could offer you sweet tea or water. I even have flavorings for your water.

We could sit at the kitchen table or the bar but the living room would be more comfortable. Our couch, loveseat and chair all recline :). If I knew you were coming over, all seats would be available, if you came over unannounced, well we might have to clear you off a spot to sit but you'd still be welcome to sit anywhere!

We'd probably start off with the norms, how's the weather, how are you, how's life treating you, etc. You know the basics then we'd go from there. And I'm sure we'd blow through lots of topics: books, movies, tv, music, kids, babies, school, whatever, the sky would be the limit.

I'm sure that the cat would come out and greet us at some point. She'll probably meow like crazy even though the gal I got her from said that the cat never meowed. I know better :). If it is later at night you'd see the dogs go to bed and they might come to say good night on their way because you're new in the house.

Our talking would probably go on for hours so after snacks that we scrounged up we'd probably have to eat dinner (or lunch) at some point. I could cook or we could even go to town and grab something. Hubby would even volunteer to drive because he's awesome like that.

So am I for sure this is how our coffee date would go, no, but I'll bet it'd be pretty darn close :). Happy Wednesday. I woke up to snow flurries this morning. brrrr! the temp last night got down to 14 which is cold for us :) Today's high is supposed to be like 32ish, we'll see.

Lunch on a lazy Saturday

Saturday hubby and I wound up with absolutely NO plans. To say this never happens is a huge understatement because dang, it feels like we're ALWAYS on the go. Some days it's extremely nice to just not have anywhere to go or anything to do! When we woke up we were hungry and decided to go get breakfast and then Earl shot me a text and asked if I wanted to go with them to a craft show. Since we were already in Joplin hubby just dropped me off and then picked me up after we were finished. We decided we'd run a few errands and then it was time for lunch!

We debated different places to eat and we were still fairly full from breakfast so we decided to go to Qdoba Mexican Grill. We always forget about this place and it cracks me up every time that it is located right next to a weight-loss place :). Ironic?

I went for the Queso Burrito with Grilled Chicken. I'm not into beans so I omitted them. Flour tortilla, Cilantro Rice, Grilled Chicken, Verde Queso, Shredded Cheese, Pico de Gallo, & Sour Cream! All I can say is re-typing it, I'm ready for another one. YUM! Then hubby suggested squeezing lime over it. Holy yum! Why do I forget about this place?!?!

Hubby went with the Fajita Burrito. Flour tortilla, Brown Rice, Fajita Steak, Fajita Vegetables, Salsa Verde, Pico de Gallo, Shredded Cheese, Corn Slaw and Sour Cream. He then did mild jalapeno sauce over the top and squeeze of lime. I'd so have tried his but steak and I aren't agreeing lately (very sad!) but he said it was good!

While we were sitting there I saw you could get Chips for your Thoughts. I don't have my receipt anymore, think they'd take my pictures as proof?

Wow, I forgot how much I like this place. At my old job, we actually had them cater our Christmas party and yum!

When we went to leave, hubby refilled his drink and got a lid/straw. As we were walking out of the building he kept saying Sweetheart and confusing the heck out of me. Sadly, to say I was getting annoyed is a bit of an understatement because originally I was answering him like he was calling me sweetheart.

Then he finally fessed up... look at the lid. Yup, he wasn't calling me Sweetheart.

When we got home, we actually had a fun little snack/dessert. Back in late December or early January I showed him a picture of Red Velvet M&M's and we looked everywhere for them with no luck of finding them. He went onto Amazon and found them and they just so happened to come in the mail. YUM!

Week 20

How far along? 20 weeks 6 days - Holy Cow, we're halfway through this. YIKES! Oh and 20 week post on the 20th... SWEET!

Total weight gain/loss: Yeah I haven't looked at the scale. I thought I was obsessing to much about it so I quit.

How big is baby? So thebump.com says the baby is the size of a banana. Average length is 6.5 inches. They say the weight is 10.6oz... seeing as though we were at 9 about 3 weeks ago, I'm going to guess we're bigger than that?

  • She now has taste buds that work!
  • Now she's gulping down several ounces of amniotic fluid each day - that's significantly more than before.

Maternity Clothes?  I haven't tried on any clothes that weren't maternity clothes other than my gym shorts and hubbys tshirts.

Stretch Marks? Well I haven't found any yet but I haven't looked real hard either. I can tell you that my belly is itching like crazy!

Best moment this week? So last Thursday after I had Week 19 post typed up and posted, I drove to class and actually felt Peanut kick me. She kicks mainly in the same spot. It's soooo funny! and weird!

Movement? I guess read best moment of the week?!?!

Food Cravings/Aversions? I haven't really been having cravings. I like Nestle Crunch bars but that was prior to being pregnant too. I keep a bag in the freezer and every now and then get one, just like previously. I haven't had aversions really either, but at the same time I know stuff that wasn't agreeing with me previously in this pregnancy so I've just been avoiding those foods still...

What I miss: I've always liked my naps but I'm tired of being tired all the time. I thought in the 2nd trimester you were supposed to have extra energy but I don't agree. I still just want to sleep every chance I get. I'm also missing my mind! Have you seen it? I keep feeling like I'm forgetting things.

What I'm looking forward to:  We're actually having our 3-D ultra sound tomorrow so I'm really looking forward to that. I can't wait to see what this baby is going to look like!!!

Nausea/Vomiting? So far this week I've been okay but I'm coughing my lungs up.  I'm soooo ready to be over this cough as I'm sure baby is too.

Labor signs? Let's sure hope not! Way to early! It does crack me up when they ask me that at the doctors office. They've asked me that since the first appointment around week 8.

Gender? We found out we are having a girl although I keep joking that they'll tell me it's a boy later on.

Belly Button in or out?  It's still in but getting shallow and it aches! OMG does it ache! I've always had issues with my belly button hurting though so that doesn't totally surprise me.

Wedding rings on or off?  So far so good, they're still on. I'm happy about that!

Sleep? Oh I guess it depends on the night and how much hubby is snoring. It also depends on if I decide to not follow my rule of no water after 8pm. If I drink after that I'm up ALL. NIGHT. LONG. peeing. oy! No joke. But if I cut that off at 8pm I get along better.

Weekly Wisdom: Don't drink water before bed :). Seriously not joking, like you thought I was. Otherwise, every now and then I swear I'm losing my mind. oy! Earlier this week I wanted to ask hubby to put some vicks on my chest but instead I asked him to put, in this order: deodorant, Vaseline, NyQuil, DayQuil, sh*t (although that was more I was annoyed with myself) and FINALLY got out vicks.

Due Date: Thursday June 26, 2014.  The ultra sound showed that the babies due date is June 27, 2014. Can't wait to see what tomorrow's 3-D ultra sound says...

Farm life.....

So here recently my dad sent me this email. I can't even begin to tell you how I giggled and how true it is, anyway to me. In fact, I grew up on a farm! Now my parents both had jobs outside the farm to support the farm, but I grew up on a farm no less. It was our side income. Now let me share with you the email dad sent to me (I have no idea where these ideas came from...)

You know you grew up on a Farm when:

1. You give directions not by streets, but by fields and land marks.

I am guilty of this... and if not by fields or land marks, I'm constantly referring to people's places that are near where I'm talking about. Prior to the 911 mandation, we didn't have street names in the country. We had this road or that road and I grew up with a Route 1 or a Route 3 address (changed obviously when we moved).

2. You were driving Tractors before your feet could hit the pedals.

If you've never driven a tractor, it's fairly easy to do! Dad's tractor you just have to hold in the clutch, get it going and you're good to go. Now Grandpa's tractor is a 4 speed manual transmission. Yup I can drive that too :)

3. Your homepage on your computer is the weather channel and everyone knows to be quiet when the weather comes on the evening news.

My homepage isn't weather.com, but it's extremely easy to find. I check it almost daily and if I don't check it on my computer, I check it on my iPhone app. Oh the day, what did we do without it when iPhone's didn't exist? Some times you can catch me off guard about the weather, but very seldom... usually I can give you at least rough estimates on the weather.

4. Forget ladders, you’ve got loaders and tractors to clean those gutters, trim trees and hang decorations.

Oh we have ladders too, but we change the lights in our round pen out with the front end loader. We built our barn with ladders, tractors and chain saws. Yup, you read that correctly. Don't judge :). When you can't find a skill saw, a chain saw works fairly well :)

5. You plan events around planting and harvesting. A wedding during plant – fuhget about it!

My dad got out of the harvesting of crops long before I was born. In fact, my dad paid for my mom's engagement ring by selling a load of soybeans. But the doctors told my dad he couldn't be a full time farmer due to medical reasons, just a part time one so he sold off the combine and got rid of the fields. But we still did and do bale hay. Something has to feed the cows/horses/llama. side note: when my dad was in college, he was a full time college student, farmed 250 acres and had a full time job working 40 hrs per week. My mom learned how to drive a tractor to spend time with my dad.

6. Automatic transmission, no thanks! You were driving stick by the 3rd grade!
I learned to drive our old farm truck when I was 4 years old in a freak lightning storm. I wasn't tall enough to see over the steering wheel so my dad had me sitting on his hard hat. When I had to stop the truck I'd slide off the hard hat, off the seat and hopefully hit the break. Now since I didn't hit the clutch, I killed the truck but at least I got the truck stopped. And I'll have you know we worked all night that night and not a single bale of hay got wet. Then I actually learned how to drive a standard (with the clutch) when I was about 12 years old. I could finally reach the clutch to the floor.

7. You can fix anything with some elbow grease and bailing wire.
Don't forget the duct tape! I'm just saying! My dad actually put a combine back together with baling wire and duct tape. Didn't make my grandpa happy but whatever, he got it done and fixed it later :). On more than one occasion those things have come in handy for our family. Hey when you're in the field, you don't have time to keep running to town so you keep the essentials around and you get it done!

8. A lot of your wardrobe came from your family’s seed or feed dealer.
I have a lot of John Deere shirts. What can I say. But we mainly got hats out of the deals. Still, that's part of wardrobe, right?

9. You learned quickly where your loyalty would be – Green or Red?
If you do not know what this means... let me explain. John Deere is Green. International is Red. If you look at my kitchen or my clothes you'd say I was totally green. We do have JD balers but the tractor is an International. The big tractor is a White, totally different Brand but an International was traded in on the White.... and if you're wondering what color it is, it's Gray.

10. You know where your food comes from, after all, you raised it and grew it!

Amen! It cracks me up when you ask someone where milk comes from and they say, "The grocery store." Um.... nope. It comes from a dairy cow. Farmers milk them twice a day so that you can have that milk. Just sayin. And yes, I have milked a cow. I've milked a goat. I've milked sheep. But no, I haven't milked a cat (name that movie... hint: Falker). On another note, here recently someone said that milk from a cow harms the cow. I'm not sure what they're thinking.... if you don't milk a cow, it causes more problems to that cow. And those calves, they get milk too so it's not like you're depriving them of milk. So I'd like to talk to this person. Sadly I heard it on tv.
